Providing a lifeline for

About Our Rescue

Joanne’s Ark Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in East Leroy, MI. We take in abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted dogs and cats. We make sure to meet all of their medical needs including spaying/neutering, vaccinations, heartworm test and flea/heartworm preventatives.  Many animals who come to us are frightened, traumatized and in need of love and comfort. We are here to give them just that!

In 2023 we saved 127 dogs and cats. For the larger rescues that’s not many. But to us that’s 127 less dogs and cats that will be on the streets, back roads, puppy mills, left to freeze or starve to death. And that’s a whole lot of unwanted puppies and kittens that will not be born into this cold world. We so appreciate all of our supporters that make our work possible. And to our adopters: you changed the life of the dog or cat you adopted. You’ve shown them that humans can give love and can be trusted. For that, we thank you.

Foster or Adopt

We’re always looking for loving and caring foster and adoption parents. Please contact us about our current pets that are up for pre-adoption (foster) or a permanent home. You can also view our facebook page for the latest pet updates and adoption events.

What We Do

Rescuing Animals

Joanne’s Ark Rescue is a home, not a shelter. We provide a family environment, with the love and care that helps rehabilitate abused and abandoned pets.

Comprehensive Care

While their individual needs are always different, we provide complete care to every animal we take in. We work with local certified veterinarians to ensure each pet is healthy and happy.

Spay & Neuter

Along with vacinations and other treatments, we also spay and neuter animals to safely reduce stray pet poulations. It’s an important step in preventing suffering of unwanted pets.

Finding A Home

Along with rehabilitation, we facilitate outreach and screening for pre-adoption (foster) homes, as well as perminent homes for these wonderful and loving animals.

How We Get It Done

$25 worth of Nourishment

Feeds a rescued dog or cat for a month.

$40 Medical Treatment

Helps administer necessary vaccinations.

$100 Spay & Neuter

Prevent future suffering of unwanted pets.
